# Payment methods & credits

Manage your cards, top up usage credits, and view invoices — all from Settings → Billing.

Everything money-related lives in **Settings → Billing**. Only account owners and admins can see and change it.

## Payment methods

Add a new card or update your existing one from **Settings → Billing**. Your default payment method is what gets charged — for your subscription renewal, credit purchases, and number purchases.

## Credits

Usage beyond what your plan includes is paid from credit. **Settings → Billing** shows:

* a **Voice & messaging balance** for calls and texts beyond your plan, which you top up with **Add funds** or keep topped up with **Auto-charge**, and
* **Automation credits** for AI Receptionist minutes beyond your plan. AI minutes are counted per call, rounded up to the next whole minute.

Top-ups are charged to your default payment method. Per-minute and per-message rates vary by destination; see the rates page.

## Invoices and usage

* **Invoices** are viewed through the Stripe billing portal — choose **Manage in Stripe** in **Settings → Billing** to open it. That's also where you update the billing details (company name, address) shown on your invoices, and where you can change the card Stripe charges.
* **Usage** — track credits used, incoming and outgoing calls, and SMS from **Settings → Billing**.

## FAQ

**Do credits expire or reset each month?** No. Credits never expire and roll over indefinitely. Only your plan's *included* allowances reset, on the 1st of each calendar month (not on your billing date). Credits sit on top of them.

**Which card is charged when I buy credits?** Always your default payment method on file. There's no per-purchase card picker — update the default card first if you want a different one charged.

**Where do I get a proper invoice for my accountant?** Open **Manage in Stripe** in **Settings → Billing** — the Stripe portal lists every invoice as a downloadable PDF. Set your company name and address there so they appear on the invoice.

**Can I get a refund?** Refunds cover your first plan payment only, within 14 days, if you've used fewer than 30 minutes of calls. Credit top-ups, number fees and renewals aren't refunded. See [Refunds](https://docs.limephone.io/billing-and-account/refunds).
