# Plans & subscription

View, change, or cancel your LimePhone plan from Settings → Billing.

Your subscription is managed in **Settings → Billing**. Only account owners and admins can make billing changes. The plan page shows your current plan and status at the top — including a **Cancellation Scheduled** badge if you've cancelled but the period hasn't ended yet.

## View or change your plan

1. Go to **Settings → Billing**.
2. Review your current plan and the available plans.
3. Use the **Monthly / Yearly** toggle to pick a billing cycle — **Yearly is selected by default** and each plan card shows the per-month equivalent when billed annually.
4. Pick the plan you want and confirm. Before confirming you'll see the **new monthly total**.

**Upgrades take effect right away.** Annual billing is cheaper per month.

## Downgrade your plan

Downgrading works the same way — choose the lower plan. Before you confirm, a **warning lists what you'd lose** on the lower plan. Check that your usage fits the new plan's limits (numbers, members, features) before confirming.

## Cancel your subscription

1. Go to **Settings → Billing** and scroll to the bottom of the plan page.
2. Choose **Cancel subscription** and complete the cancellation dialog.
3. You'll receive an email confirming the cancellation.

Paid plans can cancel at the **end of the billing period** (the default) or **immediately**. Ending a free trial takes effect straight away: you lose access, your number is released, and you aren't charged.

Changed your mind? Email <support@limephone.io> before your billing period ends and we'll keep your plan running.

## Reactivate a cancelled account

Once the period ends and the account is cancelled, choosing a plan again reactivates it — but you need a **payment method on file first**; the dashboard will prompt you to add one before reactivating.

A word of caution: releasing your numbers means losing them. If you might come back, consider downgrading instead of cancelling so you keep your number.

## Allowances and limits

* Your plan's allowance resets on the 1st of each calendar month, not on your billing date.
* Free and trial accounts stop when they reach their limits.
* Paid plans that include overage keep working past the allowance. The extra usage is paid from your credit balance.
* Calls to the US and Canada count in your allowance. Calls to most other countries are charged per minute from the first minute.
* Each plan includes a set number of seats. Once members plus pending invites reach your seats (plus any seat add-ons), you can't invite more.
* AI minutes are counted per call, rounded up to the next whole minute. The AI Receptionist needs an active subscription; a call it can't take goes to a person or voicemail.
* LimePhone plans include 100 website AI chat conversations and 200 AI text replies (SMS and WhatsApp) each month. Trials include 50 of each. Over the chat limit, the website widget shows your contact and callback forms instead of the AI. Over the text limit, the AI stops replying and messages wait in your Inbox for a person. Nothing extra is charged. Both reset on the 1st of each month. Owners get a warning at 80% and at 100%.

## FAQ

**If I upgrade mid-cycle, when am I charged?** Upgrades apply immediately and billing is adjusted through Stripe from that point; your next invoice reflects the new plan.

**I cancelled by mistake — how do I undo it?** Email <support@limephone.io> before your billing period ends and we'll keep your plan running.

**Does cancelling stop charges immediately?** No new renewal is charged, but the current period runs to its end and you keep access until then. Ending a *trial* stops the future charge entirely — you were never billed — and ends access straight away.

**Do I keep my phone numbers if my subscription lapses?** No. When your plan ends, your numbers are released straight away and can't be recovered. Transfer them out first if you want to keep them, or downgrade rather than cancel.
