# Incoming calls

Control what happens when someone calls one of your numbers — who or what answers, on which devices, and how.

## Where incoming calls go

Each number decides its own destination. Open **Settings → Phone numbers**, select the number, and set its **Call Routing**:

* **AI Receptionist** — an AI agent answers, takes a message, and can qualify the caller. See [AI Receptionist](https://docs.limephone.io/ai-receptionist).
* **Team member** — the call rings a specific member of your workspace.
* **External number** — the call is forwarded to any outside phone number.
* **Voicemail** — callers hear your greeting and leave a message. See [Voicemails](https://docs.limephone.io/calls-and-messages/voicemails).

## Which of your devices ring

When a call routes to you, **Settings → Your account → Call Settings** decides where it rings — all enabled devices ring at the same time (simultaneous ring):

* **Ring in Browser** — answer with the web dialer at [dashboard.limephone.io](https://dashboard.limephone.io).
* **Ring via SIP** — ring a SIP endpoint or softphone. See [SIP dialer](/calls-and-messages/sip-dialer.md).
* **External Numbers** — ring your own verified phone numbers.

## Greetings, whisper, and hours

Also in **Call Settings**:

* **Greeting Type** — play a standard or custom greeting to callers before connecting.
* **Call Whisper** — hear a short announcement when you answer a forwarded call, so you know it came through LimePhone before you speak.
* **Available Days** — limit when calls ring you; outside those days calls follow your after-hours handling. Workspace-wide schedules live in **Settings → Business hours**.

## If calls aren't reaching you

Work through [Call issues](https://docs.limephone.io/troubleshooting/call-issues) — the most common causes are routing pointed at voicemail, a disabled ring device, and business-hours settings.
