# Go-live checklist

Everything to switch on before your number takes real customer calls — about 15 minutes end to end.

## The checklist

1. **Get your number** — [buy a phone number](https://docs.limephone.io/phone-numbers/buy-a-phone-number) (or [port your existing one](https://docs.limephone.io/phone-numbers/transfer-your-number-to-limephone)).
2. **Decide who answers** — set the number's [Call Routing](https://docs.limephone.io/calls-and-messages/incoming-calls): the AI Receptionist, a team member, an external phone, or voicemail.
3. **Set up the AI Receptionist** (if it answers) — run the [setup wizard](https://docs.limephone.io/ai-receptionist/set-up-your-ai-receptionist) so it knows your business, then place a test call and listen to how it handles you.
4. **Choose your ring devices** — in [Call Settings](https://docs.limephone.io/calls-and-messages/call-configuration), enable the browser, a [SIP endpoint](https://docs.limephone.io/calls-and-messages/sip-dialer), or your own verified phone, and pick your **Default Caller ID**.
5. **Set business hours** — configure your open/closed schedule in **Settings → Business hours** so after-hours calls are handled the way you want.
6. **Invite your team** — add [members and roles](https://docs.limephone.io/workspace/members-and-roles) so colleagues can answer and text.
7. **Enable texting** — if you'll text US customers, start [10DLC registration](https://docs.limephone.io/workspace/trust-center-10dlc-and-compliance) now (carrier approval takes time); unregistered US texting gets filtered.
8. **Test everything** — call your number from a personal phone, send yourself a text, and check the call appears in [Call Logs](https://docs.limephone.io/calls-and-messages/call-logs-and-activity).
9. **Go mobile** — install the [mobile app](https://docs.limephone.io/calls-and-messages/mobile-app-and-dialer) on your phone so you never miss a call.
