# Make your first call

Here's how to place your first outbound call — from the web dialer, from a contact or call log, or on a mobile browser.

## Before you begin

* Make sure your account is active and has calling credit (see **Settings → Billing**).
* Use Chrome or Edge and allow microphone access when prompted.
* Have the number you want to call ready, including the country code for international calls.

## Call from the web dialer

1. Sign in at [dashboard.limephone.io](https://dashboard.limephone.io) and click the round floating phone button at the bottom-right of any dashboard page — it expands into the dialer panel.
2. Enter the number you wish to call on the keypad.
3. Choose the virtual number to call from with the From-number selector — for example, use your US number when calling the US.
4. Press the call button.

While connected, the call screen shows the call duration. In-call controls:

* Mute
* Keypad
* Recording toggle
* Transfer to a teammate

The dialer panel also keeps a recent-calls list for quick redialing. Press the end-call button when you're done. The call is logged in **Call Logs**.

## Call a contact or a past caller

* Open **Contacts**, select the person, and use the call action — the dialer opens with their number pre-filled.
* Open **Call Logs**, find the call, and use the call action to ring them back.

Pick the virtual number to call from and press call.

## From a mobile browser

Open [dashboard.limephone.io](https://dashboard.limephone.io) in Chrome or Edge on your phone or tablet — you're automatically redirected to the mobile web app, which opens on its **Dialer** tab (with Inbox, Logs, and Contacts tabs alongside). Enter the number and call the same way.

## Tips

* A stable internet connection matters most for call quality — see the Troubleshooting section if calls sound choppy.
* If you record calls, check whether your jurisdiction requires the other party's consent.
