Send your first text
Here's how to send your first SMS from LimePhone — and the one prerequisite US senders must complete first.
Before you text US numbers: register for 10DLC
Sending SMS to the United States requires 10DLC registration. Open Settings → Trust center and complete the Brands and Campaigns registration for your business. Until you're registered, US carriers filter unregistered traffic and your messages may never arrive. Some other countries also require KYC/regulatory documents before texting — the Trust center covers those too.
Trial accounts note: trials include inbound SMS only — outgoing SMS is unavailable until your account is upgraded and registered.
Send from your number's inbox
Sign in at dashboard.limephone.io. In the sidebar, under Inboxes, click your phone number — it opens that number's conversations (calls and texts).
Click New Message to open the composer.
Enter the recipient's number in the To: field. The message sends from whichever number's inbox is open — switch inboxes to send from another number.
Type your message, then send it now — or schedule it to send later by picking a date and time.
The composer also offers message templates, AI rewrite, and emoji — and conversations support assigning, tagging, and archiving.
Text a contact
Open Contacts, select the person, and use the text/SMS action. The composer opens with their number filled in — type and send.
Text from Call Logs
Just finished a call? Open Call Logs, find the entry, and use the SMS action to text that caller directly.
Where your messages live
All conversations — sent and received — appear in that number's inbox and on the contact's record.
That's the getting-started basics done. Explore AI Receptionist, SMS campaigns (on higher plans), and the rest of the dashboard from here — or ask Ask LimeAI if you get stuck.
