Welcome to LimePhone
This page gives you a quick tour of what LimePhone is, what you can do with it, and what to check before your first call.
What is LimePhone?
LimePhone is an AI-powered business phone platform. You get virtual phone numbers (local and toll-free, in 25+ countries), calling and SMS/MMS from any browser or device, an AI Receptionist that answers calls for you, and a REST API for building your own integrations. Everything runs from the web app at dashboard.limephone.io.
With LimePhone you can:
Make and receive calls in your browser with the web dialer, or forwarded to your own phone. (An Android app is also available.)
Send and receive SMS/MMS from the Inboxes section in the sidebar — each of your numbers has its own inbox — and run bulk SMS campaigns (available on higher plans).
Let the AI Receptionist answer, screen, and route calls when you can't.
Keep every call in Call Logs with recordings, transcripts, and notes.
Organize the people you talk to in Contacts, and invite teammates to share your numbers (Settings → Members).
Track usage in Analytics (on eligible plans) and automate with Webhooks and the API.
Find anything fast with Search in the sidebar, and catch missed activity in the Activity bell (your notification center).
Common uses
Personal: a second number that keeps your personal one private, separate lines for work and life, a local number while traveling, cheaper international calling.
Business: a dedicated customer-support line, numbers per team or campaign for call tracking, call forwarding across a remote team, toll-free numbers, business texting, and a switchboard/IVR front door for your company.
Prohibited use
LimePhone may not be used for:
Receiving OTP / verification codes. Virtual numbers often can't receive bank or 2FA one-time passwords, and LimePhone does not support this use.
Spam or cold-call dialing. Sales cold calling, call-center dialing, high-volume automated calling, and any spam or fraudulent use are against our fair-usage policy and can lead to suspension or termination.
Other limits to know
Emergency services: virtual numbers may not work with emergency calling (911/999).
US texting: sending SMS in the United States requires 10DLC registration (Settings → Trust center). Unregistered US traffic is filtered by carriers.
KYC: depending on the country, you may need to provide identity or business documents before a number is issued (Settings → Trust center).
Call recording: may require the other party's consent depending on jurisdiction — check your local regulations.
Porting and international calls can be subject to carrier and regulatory restrictions.
System requirements
Use a modern Chrome or Edge browser — Safari and Firefox are not supported for calling.
Allow microphone access when the browser asks.
Use a stable internet connection; for the best call quality, prefer wired or strong Wi-Fi and a router that supports QoS. See the Troubleshooting section for network speed and audio-setup details.
