Call forwarding
Choose where you personally pick up calls — in the browser, over SIP, or on another phone — and connect a number's routing to you.
There are two halves to this: your personal receive channels (where calls reach you), and the number's routing (which sends calls to you). Set up both.
Step 1 — Choose how you receive calls
Go to Settings → Call Settings (under Your account).
Turn on each channel you want to receive calls through:
Ring in browser — answer calls in the web dialer at dashboard.limephone.io. Great when you're at your desk.
Ring via SIP — deliver calls to your own SIP endpoint.
External numbers — forward calls to a verified existing number, like your mobile or landline.
You can enable more than one channel at once — calls ring across them simultaneously — and toggle any of them on or off at any time.
Verify a forwarding number
To forward calls to another phone, the number must be verified first:
In Settings → Call Settings, add the number you want calls forwarded to. External numbers must be in the US, UK, or Canada.
Click to verify — you'll receive a code via SMS.
Enter the code to connect the number.
Once verified, you can enable or disable that forwarding number at any time. You can change or replace it whenever you like.
Also in Call Settings
The same section holds your Default caller ID (which number you show on outbound calls — see Caller ID), Caller ID on forwarded calls (show the caller's number or your LimePhone number when a call is forwarded to you), and Call whisper (a short announcement you hear before being connected, so you know the call came through LimePhone).
Step 2 — Point a number at you
Calls only reach your channels if a phone number routes to you:
Open Settings → Phone numbers and select the number.
Share the number with yourself (or your team) if it isn't already shared.
Set the routing destination to yourself, a team member, or your team.
See Manage a number for the full routing options. Changing number settings requires an admin role — make sure teammates are assigned to the numbers they need to make and receive calls.
