Transfer your number to LimePhone

Keep your existing business number when you switch — here's what porting needs, how long it takes, and how to start.

What you'll need

  • Current carrier details — your provider's name and your account number.

  • Number details — the number you want to port and its associated billing telephone number (BTN).

  • A signed Letter of Authorization (LOA) — from the authorized user on the account.

  • An active LimePhone subscription.

Start the port

Email [email protected] with the number you want to port. We'll send you the LOA and let you know exactly which documents your country and number type require.

What happens next

  1. Review. LimePhone verifies your information with your current carrier. You may be asked to confirm details — double-check everything, because mismatched account information is the most common cause of delay.

  2. Porting window. Porting usually takes a few business days; we'll give you an estimated completion date. Keep your current service active until the port completes — cancelling early can cause you to lose the number.

  3. Completion. Once the port finishes, the number appears in Settings → Phone numbers and works like any other LimePhone number — configure routing, voicemail, and the rest as usual.

  4. Test. Make and receive a call and a text on the ported number. If anything's off, contact support.

Best practices

  • Start early — begin well before any deadline to avoid service interruptions.

  • Unlock your number — if your current provider locks numbers, ask them to unlock it before porting.

  • Check eligibility — some landline and VoIP numbers can't be ported; we'll confirm yours during review.

  • Stay reachable — we may need you to confirm details during the process.
