Blocklist

Block unwanted callers and senders so they can no longer reach your numbers.

The blocklist at Settings → Blocklist holds every suppressed number — both the ones you block by hand and the ones LimePhone suppresses automatically (for example when a recipient opts out of your texts).

Block a caller

  1. Go to Settings → Blocklist.

  2. Click Block a number.

  3. Enter the phone number (e.g. +1 (555) 123-4567) and confirm with Block.

Reading the list

Each entry shows three columns — Number, Blocked by, and Blocked time — plus badges explaining why it's there:

Badge
Meaning

Manual

A member of your workspace blocked it (the "Blocked by" column names who)

Opted out

The recipient replied STOP or otherwise opted out of your messages

Complaint

Suppressed after a complaint

Bounce / Invalid

The number couldn't be reached or isn't valid

Legal

Suppressed for legal/compliance reasons

Auto

Added automatically ("Blocked by" shows Auto-suppressed)

Use the search box to find a specific number in a long list. To unblock, click the × on the entry — the caller can reach you again immediately.

What blocked callers experience

Blocked numbers can't reach you: their calls don't ring you or your team, and their messages don't land in your inbox. The caller isn't told they've been blocked — from their side the call simply doesn't get through.

Reducing spam in the first place

Blocking works number by number. To cut down spam more broadly, consider setting up an IVR menu on your number — requiring callers to choose an option filters out most robocalls before they ever ring you. See the call routing and IVR guide.

FAQ

Why is there a number in my blocklist that nobody blocked? Entries tagged Auto were suppressed automatically — most commonly an SMS recipient who replied STOP (Opted out). This keeps you compliant: continuing to text someone who opted out risks carrier filtering and penalties.

Should I unblock someone who opted out so I can text them again? Only if they've genuinely asked to hear from you again (e.g. they text START or request it in writing). Removing an opt-out entry without consent can violate messaging regulations.

My own outbound call shows as failed — could the blocklist be why? Yes. If you dial a number that's on your blocklist, the call is suppressed too. Search for it in Settings → Blocklist, remove it, and try again.

Does the blocklist apply to all my numbers? Yes — it's workspace-wide. A number blocked once can't reach any of your LimePhone numbers.
