# Slack

Get call, SMS, and voicemail notifications posted to a Slack channel the moment they happen.

## What it does

Once connected, LimePhone posts a short notification message into a Slack channel of your choice for the events you enable: incoming messages, completed calls, missed calls, and new voicemails. Your team sees activity in real time without watching the dashboard — a missed call or incoming text shows up in the channel with the caller's number, and for messages, the text itself.

## Prerequisites

* A Slack workspace where you can install apps (workspace permissions vary — you may need a Slack admin to approve).
* A LimePhone role that can open **Settings → Integrations**.

## Connect Slack

1. Sign in at **dashboard.limephone.io** and open **Settings → Integrations**.
2. Click the **Slack** card, then click **Connect Slack**.
3. You're redirected to Slack. Sign in to your workspace if prompted, choose the channel where notifications should appear, and click **Allow**.
4. Slack sends you back to **Settings → Integrations** with Slack showing as connected. The detail view shows the **Connected Channel** and workspace name.
5. Under **Phone Numbers**, choose **All numbers** or **Specific numbers** to control which numbers post to Slack.
6. Under **Events to Sync**, tick the events you want: **Incoming messages**, **Completed calls**, **Missed calls**, **Voicemails**.
7. Click **Save Settings**.

## What data flows

LimePhone sends notification text to your chosen Slack channel only. A message notification includes the sender's number and the message body; call notifications include the caller and called numbers and call duration; voicemail notifications include the caller and voicemail length. Nothing flows from Slack back into LimePhone, and Slack gets no access to your LimePhone account.

Everyone in the chosen Slack channel can read these notifications — including message contents — so pick a channel with the right audience.

## Disconnect

Open **Settings → Integrations → Slack** and click **Disconnect**. Notifications stop immediately. To change the channel instead, disconnect and reconnect, choosing the new channel during the Slack authorization step.

## Troubleshooting

**Nothing is posting to Slack.** Check three things in the detail view:

1. **Events to Sync** — the event type you expected must be ticked, and you must have clicked **Save Settings**.
2. **Phone Numbers** — if you selected **Specific numbers**, the number receiving the activity must be in the list.
3. **Activity** — if the error count is climbing, the Slack channel may have been archived or the app removed from your workspace. Disconnect and reconnect to reauthorize.
