# Notifications

Choose how and where you're alerted about calls, messages, and activity in your workspace.

Go to **Settings → Notifications** (under *Your account*). The preferences come in two groups:

| Group | Toggles | What they control |
| -------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------- |
| Channels | **Email Notifications**, **SMS Notifications**, **Push Notifications** | *How* alerts reach you |
| Events | **New Leads**, **Message Replies**, **Campaign Updates** | *What* you're alerted about |

A channel toggle silences that entire delivery method; an event toggle silences that kind of alert across all channels. For an alert to arrive, both its event and at least one channel must be on.

These are your **personal** preferences — turning something off only silences it for you; other members keep their own settings. Notifications sent to a connected Slack channel are configured inside the Slack integration itself — see Integrations.

## Push notifications on web and Android

To get real-time alerts for incoming calls and messages:

1. **Web:** turn on **Push Notifications** in **Settings → Notifications**, then allow notifications for dashboard.limephone.io when your browser asks. If you dismissed the browser prompt earlier, re-enable it from the browser's site settings for dashboard.limephone.io.
2. **Android:** open your device **Settings → Apps → LimePhone → Notifications** and make sure notifications are turned on.

## Quiet without unsubscribing: Do Not Disturb

If you want silence for a while rather than permanently, use **Do Not Disturb** in **Settings → Preferences** instead of turning notifications off. While DND is active you choose what happens to incoming calls — sent to voicemail, rejected, or answered with an auto-reply SMS — and you can allow calls from your contacts or emergency bypass through. Your notification preferences stay intact for when you switch DND off.

## Not receiving push notifications?

1. Check both sides: the **Push Notifications** toggle in LimePhone *and* the browser or device permission must be on.
2. Rule out connection issues: try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data, and temporarily disable any VPN — VPNs can block the persistent connections push notifications rely on.
3. On Android, disable battery optimization for the LimePhone app if alerts arrive late.
4. Still stuck? Contact <support@limephone.io>.

## FAQ

**I turned everything on but still get no emails.** Check spam/junk for mail from limephone.io, and confirm the email address on your account (**Settings → Profile**) is one you actually read.

**Will muting notifications stop my phone ringing for calls?** No — these preferences govern *alerts* (email, push, SMS notifications), not call routing. To stop calls reaching you, use **Do Not Disturb** in **Settings → Preferences** or set your working hours in **Settings → Availability**.

**Can an admin set notification defaults for the whole team?** No — notification preferences are per member. Each person sets their own in **Settings → Notifications**.

**Why do I get an alert my teammate doesn't?** You each have independent settings. Have them check their own **Settings → Notifications** — one of their event or channel toggles is off.
