Trust center (10DLC & compliance)

Register your business so your US texting is delivered reliably and your numbers stay compliant.

The Trust center (Settings → Trust center) is where you handle the regulatory side of business calling and texting: US 10DLC registration for SMS, and the identity documents some countries require for owning numbers.

Why US SMS needs 10DLC

10DLC (10-digit long code) is the US carrier standard for business texting from regular local numbers. Registering tells carriers who you are and what you send, which gets you:

  • Better deliverability — registered traffic has higher throughput and lower filtering rates.

  • Compliance — registration is how business texting meets CTIA and carrier rules.

  • Trust — messages from a registered brand are less likely to be marked as spam.

If you text US numbers without registering, carriers filter your messages — they may silently fail to arrive. Registration isn't optional for US business SMS.

The Trust center tabs

Settings → Trust center is organized into tabs:

  • Brands — your legal business identity: legal name, business type, tax ID (EIN), address, website. This is registered with The Campaign Registry (TCR).

  • Campaigns — what you send and why: your use case (customer service, notifications, marketing), sample messages, and opt-in/opt-out handling. Campaigns attach to a brand.

  • Addresses — business addresses required for number ownership in some countries.

  • Bundles — regulatory identity bundles (KYC documents) that certain countries require before a number can be activated.

  • Numbers — which of your numbers are linked to which registrations, and their compliance status.

Registering for 10DLC

  1. Open Settings → Trust center and create your Brand with accurate legal business details.

  2. Create a Campaign: describe your use case clearly and include representative sample messages.

  3. Submit — LimePhone verifies the details and files them with The Campaign Registry.

  4. Once approved, your US numbers on that campaign can send registered SMS.

Timelines: approval typically takes several business days; carrier review can occasionally take longer. Plan registration before you need to text at volume.

Tips for smooth approval

  • Use your exact legal business name and a matching tax ID.

  • Describe your use case plainly, and make sample messages match it.

  • Include opt-out language ("Reply STOP to unsubscribe") in your samples and your real messages.

  • Get and keep records of customer consent before texting them — see the guide on preventing message filtering.

Other compliance notes

  • Some countries require KYC documents (via Bundles and Addresses) before a number can be issued or kept active.

  • Virtual numbers often can't receive bank or 2FA one-time passcodes — don't rely on them for account verification codes.
