Network Speed
Parameters and configuration requirements for networks, network devices, computers and VOIP phones.
To ensure a smooth experience with LimePhone, we provide a set of requirements for the use of LimePhone platform.
1. Device Requirements
Google Chrome (check requirements here)
Minimum 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended).
Intel Core i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 processor
2. Network Requirements:
You'll need to make sure that you have enough bandwidth to support the number of simultaneous calls you expect your agents to make. The bandwidth used is up to 100 kbps per phone call. Please note that this bandwidth only includes audio stream traffic for making and receiving calls. Other applications (such as email or CRM) need additional bandwidth, so more headroom is required.
It's not possible to determine the exact bandwidth you might need, but as a rough rule of thumb, 1 Mbps per person sharing the connection is a good start.
Strongly recommended tips:
When possible, use a wired network connection, rather than a Wi-Fi connection. This will generally provide a more consistent and better quality network connection. We recommend using at least a Cat 5e Ethernet cable (ideally a Cat 6). If your computer doesn't have an Ethernet port, you can use one of the following adapters on Windows Ethernet/USB 3.0 adapter or on macOS Ethernet/Thunderbolt adapter.
Open network ports in your router / firewall / antivirus software (advanced info in the table below).
If your router supports Quality of Service (QoS), we strongly suggest prioritizing the ports and IPs mentioned above for your audio connection. It will increase call quality.
If you are using a VPN, we advise you to either completely deactivate the VPN or do not use it while using LimePhone.
WebRTC is supported natively in most modern browsers, however, LimePhone only officially supports Google Chrome. (Safari, Edge, and Firefox will also work but are not fully supported).
Recommended routers: Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X or Ubiquiti EdgeRouter.
LimePhone specific domains:
limephone.io
This domain should be excluded from inspection/policing on ports 80 and 443 if your firewall blocks outbound connections by default.
